"Healthy fruits and vegetables make people happy."
We believe Healthy soils produce healthy food, and a lively ecosystem makes our farms more successful as the regeneration of natural resources is our responsibility; we aim to deliver the healthiest fruits and vegetables by regenerative farming methods. We also nurture living soil and functioning ecosystems that work to preserve water and provide plants with the nutrients they require. How do we get all fruits and vegetables and their varieties? Plants! Since vegetables and fruits both come from plants, it's logical to WONDER that they aren't different. Growing of fruits and vegetables starts with sowing or planting. Sowing of seeds means placing a seed directly into the well-prepared soil.
On the other hand, vegetable planting includes the practice of placing already grown seedlings into the soil. Healthy soil is tremendously vital to growing plants. In addition to nutrients found in soil, it provides an anchor for roots and helps support the plants. For most plants, the optimal pH range is from 5.5 to 7.0. In addition to sunlight, water, and the right temperature (based on climatic conditions), plants require specific nutrients from the soil to grow different fruits and vegetable parts. For example, plants need nitrogen for healthy leaves, potassium for root development, and phosphorus for flower development.
Harvest and Post-Harvesting Techniques for Fruits and Vegetables.
The process of gathering a ripe crop from the field is called harvesting. The freshness, flavor, and nutritional value of fresh produce (includes all fruit and vegetables marketed fresh) depends on the phase of maturity and the time of day when we do the harvesting. Maturation, Ripening, and Senescence are the three Post-harvest stages in the life span of fruits and vegetables. The harvesting period varies with climate, the season, the variety, and the crop involved.
Harvesting of crops and vegetables depends on the different stages of,
We harvest fruits and vegetables and store them in cold storage where we maintain the temperature between 0°C and 4°C. The cold storage helps in dampens the growth of microorganisms that stops the fruit and vegetables from spoiling.
The commonly used tools for the harvest of fruits and vegetables are knives, picking shears that are handheld or pole. We maintain our ladders, bins, picking bags, and crates to be in good condition. All the equipment used for picking fruit is washed and cleaned.
We take fruits and vegetables to the market in packed shipping containers. We keep these containers safe and hygienic so that the quality of the product is maintained. We sanitize all the bags, crates, hampers, baskets, cartons, bulk bins, and palletized containers that we use before the packaging process. Also, the inspection of trucks and transport cartons for cleanliness, odor, and visible dirt or debris is necessary.
Trove Farms works towards the welfare of the society.
